Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

I got this little Christmas bear in the hospital gift shop just after Milo was born. It has become tradition to take a picture with this special bear every year. I love to see how he has changed and grown over the years.

What Are Milostones?

Before Milo came along I assumed I would record all of the normal childhood milestones for my child. Milo came crashing into this world with his brave and determined soul changing lives of all around him. I learned that when you have a special needs child the typical childhood milestones (if and when they are achieved) are not what matters most. Milostones are the milestones of Milo's life. They chronical his first Flight For Life helicopter ride, the first time he came off the ventilator, and finally sitting up at 12 months old just to name a few.

Milo

At 7 years old Milo is a wavy haired, loving, smart & onrey little guy! Despite his rough start in life (see Milo's Medical page) he is doing wonderfully. He loves Mickey Mouse and mascots of all types. Milo enjoys going to the zoo and playing outside especially if it involves water. Milo is in 1st grade and doing very well with his reading but struggles with math. He still loves trains. He had his g-tube removed last year and is doing well growing and gaining a little bit of weight. He loves yogurt, Cheetos, French fries, rice, gluten free mac & cheese, and chicken nuggets. Above all Milo is a special little guy who's smile lights up the lives of those around him.
